Ankeny Centennial senior Cate Trewet has committed to play golf at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn.
St. Catherine is an NCAA Division III program that primarily competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
“I am so excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at St. Catherine University!” Trewet tweeted on Tuesday.
Trewet led the Jaguars last spring with a 44.8 average for nine holes. She was a three-time runner-up for medalist honors.

Trewet carded an 86 and placed seventh in a Class 4A regional meet at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown. She missed qualifying for state as an individual by just one stroke.
Trewet, who joined Centennial’s varsity lineup as a freshman, thanked her coaches for developing her into the player that she is today.
“I’ve worked with John Dinnebier since I was nine years old, and I’m so thankful for everything he’s taught me. From nine years old to watching me take this next step, I’m so thankful to have had him in my corner! Marty (Kiepe) has brought so much passion to our team, encouraged my competitive side, and stayed late with e countless nights at the putting green. Coach (Andrew) Reedy saw something in me that at the time I couldn’t see in myself and has continued to believe in me. Codee Myers has helped me build my confidence and find the positive in everything. Thank you just isn’t enough.
“Lastly, thank you to coach Mary (Giorgi) for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to be a Wildcat!” she added.
