The Class 4A baseball substate assignments have been announced by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Ankeny (10-9) has been placed in Substate 2. Eighth-ranked Ankeny Centennial (14-7) has been placed in Substate 3.
No. 6 Des Moines Roosevelt (15-4) is the only current top-10 team in Substate 2. The rest of the bracket consists of Des Moines Lincoln (6-16), Des Moines Hoover (2-16), Fort Dodge (9-12) and Mason City (13-7).
There are two ranked teams in Substate 3–Centennial and No. 4 Southeast Polk (17-5). The rest of the bracket consists of Cedar Falls (8-10), Cedar Rapids Kennedy (6-13), Marshalltown (13-10) and Waterloo West (6-14).
The postseason begins on July 19 for the two largest classes. Substate pairings will be announced at a later date.
