

Seven of the seniors on the Ankeny Centennial baseball team got a chance to start Friday’s Senior Night game against visiting Sioux City West.
Some of them played a key role in the Jaguars’ 9-1 victory in the non-conference game.
Lincoln Lacey improved his record to 2-0 with a strong performance on the mound, allowing just four hits over the first six innings. He recorded seven strikeouts while also going 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
Gavin Wiese went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs. Ben Kennedy went 2-for-3 and had one RBI.
Gavin Rumelhart, another senior, knocked in the game’s first run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. The Jaguars (7-7) added three runs in the second to build a 4-0 lead, then scored five more in the fifth.
Lucas Bruhl, a sophomore, went 2-for-4 and had one RBI in the win. Junior Easton Miller went 1-for-3, scored three runs and drove in another.

Sioux City West dropped to 8-7 on the season.
Centennial will play West Delaware (15-6) and Cedar Rapids Kennedy (7-9) on Saturday at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids.
