Ankeny Centennial senior Alanna Pennington has been named to the Class 3A all-state first team for the second straight year by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
Pennington, a midfielder, led the Jaguars to a 10-7-1 record and a state tournament appearance. She paced her team with nine goals, seven assists and 25 points.
Pennington was joined on the first team by Ankeny goalkeeper Jasmine Moser. Moser, a senior, made 45 saves as the Hawkettes went 12-4-1 and qualified for the state tournament.
Ankeny placed two more players, senior defender Jenna Pitz and sophomore midfielder Alli Macke, on the Class 3A second team. They were joined on the squad by senior forward/midfielder Cady Compton of Centennial.
Macke contributed six goals and four assists. Pitz scored three goals despite playing on the back line, matching the number of goals allowed by the Hawkettes all season.
Compton had eight goals and two assists.
