Schutty is averaging 8.4 points and a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game. He also leads the Jaguars with 10 blocks.
Here is some inside info on Schutty:
How is the season going thus far?
The season is going pretty well.
What did you think of your team’s performance on Friday?
We played a hard game and battled for every possession and ended up with the win.
What was the key to the game?
The key was to value every play and get the most out of every possession.
Are you pretty satisfied with an 8-2 record at this point?
Yeah, an 8-2 record is really good given the league we are in and the teams we play.
You are averaging close to a double-double, and you’ve been responsible for nearly 31 percent of the team’s rebounds this season. Do you feel like rebounding is your most important role on the team?
Yes, rebounding is my role. We all have roles to play, and when we all execute them we end up winning.http:/
Your point guard, Luke Winkel, is averaging more than 22 points per game. Do you think there’s a better guard in the state?
There’s no doubt, Luke is the best in the state.
Your team will host Dowling Catholic on Tuesday and will be looking to avenge a 79-64 loss at Dowling on Dec. 1. What went wrong in the first game, and what will your team have to do differently to reverse the outcome?
We just came out flat the first game against Dowling and didn’t play well, but we have them at home now and we’re looking to be more alive.
Your team’s other loss came to Waukee on Dec. 15, and the Warriors currently lead the CIML Conference with an 8-0 mark. What impressed you about their team?
Waukee is really good at playing their roles and playing good team ball.
You recently committed to play football at Northern Illinois. Did you enjoy the recruiting process?
The recruiting process was not the best, but I was just happy to be a part of it.
Was it a relief, though, to get your decision out of the way?
Yes, it was a huge relief to finally have a home.
What are you planning to study?
I’m looking to study finance or real estate.
