Only six strokes separated the three girls’ golf teams in a CIML Conference triangular meet on Tuesday at Sugar Creek.
Ankeny Centennial shot a 177 to win the meet. Waukee posted a 179 total followed by Johnston with a 183.
“It was a good start to our conference meets with a pair of wins,” said Centennial coach John Petersen. “Like Monday (at the Centennial Invitational), we are still finding those skills we need to focus on to continually lower our scores. Overall, it has been a good start to the season.”
Centennial’s Payton Drefke carded a 3-over-par 37 to earn medalist honors for the seventh time in her career. She made a birdie on the par-4, No. 6 hole.
Brooke Ridout shot a 45 to place sixth overall for the Jaguars. Kate Geiselhart fired a 47, Sophia Wilson had a 48, Cate Trewet carded a 50, and Kaylee Sprecher finished with a 61.
Waukee’s Gretta Secory was the runner-up with a 40.
