The Ankeny Centennial boys’ track team tuned up for the Drake Relays by hosting the Jaguar Invitational on Tuesday. The Jaguars won nine events, including five relays, against a field that included four other squads.
Centennial swept the jumping events. Kaleb Kruzich won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet 10 inches, while Zechariah Howe took the long jump at 19-11.25.
Noah Ross won the 100 in 10.89 seconds. Teammate Robert McGhee was the runner-up in 11.02.
AJ Schermerhorn captured the 1,600 in a time of 4:30.08. Placing third for the Jaguars were Corbin Vander Weerdt in the 400 (53.08) and Sean Thomas in the 3,200 (10:23.77).
Jeremiah Tamayo-Lopez took second in the 200 in 22.73. He also cleared the bar at 5-8 to place third in the high jump.
Centennial also earned top-three finishes in the throwing events. Max Dickinson was the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 48 feet 6 inches, while Blaine Sandquist took third in the discus with a throw of 142-5.
