The Ankeny Centennial boys’ tennis team got a much-needed victory on Wednesday.
The Jaguars cruised to an 11-0 win at Southeast Polk to end a five-meet losing streak. They improved to 2-5 in the CIML Conference and 2-6 overall, while Southeast Polk’s records dropped to 0-7 and 0-10.
Centennial won 10 of the 11 matches in straight sets. The only match that went to a third-set supertiebreaker came at No. 3 doubles, where Jack Halverson and Riley Earp teamed up for a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (6) triumph.
The Jaguars will play another CIML meet at top-ranked Waukee Northwest on Friday. The Wolves (7-0, 10-1) can wrap up a perfect conference season with a win.
