The top-ranked Waukee Northwest boys’ tennis team wrapped up the CIML Conference dual-meet title with an 11-0 victory over visiting Ankeny Centennial on Friday.
The Wolves finished a perfect 8-0 in the league and improved to 11-1 overall. Their only loss came to Wayzata (Minn.), 5-4, on April 19.
The Jaguars’ records dropped to 2-6 and 2-7.
Centennial’s Luke Valerio-Garsow won the first set of his match at No. 6 singles before eventually dropping a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 decision to Caleb Briggs. He then teamed up with Jack Halverson for another close match at No. 3 doubles, where they lost both sets in tiebreakers.
The Jaguars will close out the regular season on Monday with a non-conference meet at Ames (7-5).
