Ankeny Centennial’s Payton Drefke earned medalist honors for the third time in four days and for the fifth time this season on Thursday.
The senior carded a 4-over-par 39 at Copper Creek to finish one stroke ahead of Southeast Polk’s Kate Wahman in a CIML Conference triangular meet. Her round was highlighted by a birdie on the par-4, No. 4 hole.
Drefke, who won the conference title on Wednesday by nine strokes, helped the Jaguars to a split against Southeast Polk and Ankeny on Thursday. The Rams posted a 174 total to defeat both Ankeny schools, while Centennial shot a 178 to beat the Hawkettes (191) by 13 strokes.
Kate Geiselhart and Kaylee Sprecher each carded a 46 for the Jaguars, who finished with a 6-2 record in the conference. Brooke Ridout, Cate Trewet and Sophia Wilson each fired a 47.
Isabella Ross shot a 44 to lead Ankeny. Gracie Block had a 45, Addison Smith carded a 48, Ava Sesker and Catherine Nelson each fired a 54, and Aubree Moeller added a 62.
Both teams will compete in a Class 4A regional meet on Wednesday. Centennial is headed to Veenker Golf Course in Ames, while the Hawkettes will play at American Legion in Marshalltown.
