Ankeny Centennial standout Ty Duax has been named to the CIML Conference first team by a vote of the league’s boys’ soccer coaches along with the Ankeny duo of Landon Benge and Dylan Gloviak.
Duax, a senior midfielder, earned first-team all-conference honors for the fourth consecutive year. He was honored in the CIML Iowa Conference in 2021-22 before the new league was formed in 2023.
Duax led Centennial with 12 goals and also had five assists. He helped the Jaguars to a 5-12 record.
Benge, a junior forward, led Ankeny with 14 goals and also had four assists. He helped the Hawks to an 11-9 mark and a trip to the Class 4A state tournament in their first season under coach Trevor Fuccio.
Gloviak, a junior defender, was a leader for a defensive unit that posted six shutouts. He also contributed one assist.
Centennial placed two players on the all-conference second team. They are senior defender Beau Brazeau and sophomore forward Tate Duax.
Duax racked up two goals and a team-high six assists after joining the Jaguars at midseason. Brazeau also had two goals and helped the team post a pair of shutouts.
Those two were joined on the second team by their former teammate, Austin Lundberg. In his first season at Ankeny, the junior midfielder was the Hawks’ second-leading scorer with eight goals.
Three other Ankeny players were third-team picks. They are senior midfielder Gannon Ripley, senior defender Tyler Woods and sophomore forward Cal Wahlberg.
Woods, who had two assists, was a repeat selection to the third team. Wahlberg had two goals and a team-high seven assists, while Ripley added three assists.
Sophomore forward Lucas De La Cuba and sophomore midfielder Ben Ridlen of Centennial were also named to the third team. De La Cuba had six goals and four assists for the Jaguars, while Ridlen had one goal and three assists.
Several other players earned all-conference honorable mention. They are senior Jackson Roberts, juniors Andrew Loder and Henry McMillan, and sophomores Jackson Dockendorff and Keaton Kobow of Ankeny; and seniors Andrew Nelson and Logan Page, juniors Caleb Murray and Tyson Woerdehoff, and sophomores Brock Brazeau and Mason Goble of Centennial.
Nelson was a repeat pick along with the Ankeny quartet of Dockendorff, Kobow, Loder and Roberts.
