The boys’ Class 4A district golf assignments have been announced by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Ankeny will play in a district meet at the Ottumwa Golf and Social Club, while Ankeny Centennial is headed to Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs. Both meets will be held on Monday, Oct. 7.
Tenth-ranked Centennial will try to earn its second straight trip to the state meet, which would allow the Jaguars to play on their home course. The state meet will be held on Oct. 10-11 at Briarwood Golf Club.
Centennial is one of three top-10 teams at the Council Bluffs site along with No. 4 Waukee Northwest and No. 9 Dowling Catholic. The top three teams will advance to state.
The Ottumwa site includes two of the top three finishers from last year’s state meet, No. 1 Valley and No. 6 Southeast Polk. The Tigers captured the Class 4A crown at Otter Creek, while the Rams finished third behind another CIML Conference team–Johnston.
The third qualifying spot at the Ottumwa district could come down to a battle between No. 13 North Scott and No. 14 Ankeny.
