Thursday's Fort Dodge Invitational offered a little bit of a preview of next month's state cross country meet, which will also be held at Lakeside Golf Course. Centennial’s Vander Wilt, Moll nearly cross finish line together in boys’ Class 4A race

It wasn't planned, but the Ankeny Centennial duo of Brayden Vander Wilt and Cohen Moll nearly crossed the finish line together during the boys' Class 4A state cross country meet on Friday at Fort Dodge. Junior Cohen Moll led the eighth-ranked Ankeny Centennial boys' cross country team to a sixth-place finish in the CIML Conference meet on Wednesday at Southeast Polk.
