The Ankeny girls’ tennis team dropped a 10-1 decision at Waukee in a CIML Central Conference meet on Thursday.
The Hawkettes’ lone victory came at No. 5 doubles, where the duo of Lydia Blatt and Reilly Johnson posted a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Audrey Messman and Delaney Deering.
“Our No. 5 doubles played awesome in the wind,” said Ankeny coach Katie Owens.
Waukee bounced back after suffering back-to-back losses to Dowling Catholic on Tuesday and to Urbandale on Wednesday. The Warriors improved to 2-1 in the conference and 3-4 overall, while Ankeny’s records dropped to 0-3 and 3-4.
