Are you ready for some March Madness?
The NCAA Tournament pairings have been announced. Eight teams are headed to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines for the first two rounds on Thursday and Saturday.
You can enter the Ankeny Fanatic NCAA Tournament pool sponsored by the Yankee Clipper and win a couple of great prizes. The winner of the pool will receive a $50 gift card from the Clipper as well as a bonus prize–a Final Four souvenir from Minneapolis courtesy of Ankeny Fanatic publisher Dan Holm.
Here’s how to enter the pool: Email your picks for all of the games, beginning with Thursday’s first-round games, to ankenyfanatic@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name, address and a phone number. The entry deadline is Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Points will be awarded as follows: 1 point for each correct pick in the first round, 2 points for each correct pick in the second round, 4 points for each correct pick in the Sweet 16, 6 points for each correct pick in the Elite 8, 8 points for each correct pick in the Final Four, and 16 points for correctly picking the national champion. A perfect bracket would score 152 points.
Don’t forget to include your tiebreaker: The total number of points scored in the tournament by Duke’s Zion Williamson, Iowa’s Jordan Bohannon and Iowa State’s Marial Shayok.
