The Ankeny Centennial girls’ golf team tied for 10th place with Johnston in the Linn-Mar Invitational on Tuesday at Hunters Ridge Golf Course.
Both Centennial and Johnston finished with a 403 total. The Jaguars had lost to Johnston by 19 strokes in a dual meet on April 9 at Jester Park.
“(We) finally had good weather for an 18-hole invite,” Centennial coach John Petersen tweeted after the meet. “(The girls) came back to tie Johnston, who beat them earlier in the season.”
Lauren Sease carded an 85 to lead Centennial. Megan Lazear and Claire Beath each had a 104, Riley Stewart fired a 110, Lexi Simpson shot a 112, and Grace Meter added a 115.
Valley won the meet with a 326. Waukee placed second in the 14-team field with a 346, edging Bettendorf by three strokes.
Paige Hoffman of Valley and Brooke Boardman of Waukee each shot a 74. Hoffman won a tiebreaker to earn medalist honors.
Centennial will host a CIML Central Conference dual meet against Ankeny on Wednesday at Briarwood Golf Club, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
