The Ankeny Centennial baseball team used a seven-run second inning to defeat visiting Knoxville, 15-5, in five innings in a non-conference game on Thursday.
The eighth-ranked Jaguars pounded out 12 hits while raising their record to 7-2. Knoxville dropped to 3-9.
Jackson Powell went 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI in the win. Ryan Vermeer doubled and drove in two runs, while Nathan Reinke, Josh Meador and Gabriel Monosmith also had two RBIs apiece.
Joe Street (1-0) earned the victory on the mound. He scattered eight hits and had three strikeouts.
