There’s a new No. 1 boys’ basketball team in Class 4A.
And it’s Ankeny Centennial.
The Jaguars moved into the top spot of the Associated Press rankings following Iowa City West’s 41-38 loss to Cedar Falls on Saturday. It was the second loss of the season for the Trojans (15-2), who fell to fourth in this week’s rankings.
Centennial (17-1) is riding an 11-game winning streak. The Jaguars posted a 50-48 victory at Ankeny on Friday to clinch the outright CIML Central Conference title.
Cedar Falls (14-2) moved up four spots to No. 2 in this week’s rankings. Waterloo West (15-3) is third, followed by Iowa City West and North Scott (16-1).
Centennial will play at Mason City (6-10) on Tuesday.
