

A two-run rally in the seventh inning allowed the Ankeny Centennial softball team to post a 2-1 victory at North Polk on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup between rated opponents.
Mackenzie James hit an RBI triple to tie the game at 1-1. She then scored the go-ahead run on a single by Sydney Morris, who went 2-for-4 in the win.
Lauren Gustofson (5-0) remained unbeaten for Centennial, going the distance and allowing just five hits. She had six strikeouts.
The 11th-ranked Jaguars improved to 9-3 on the season. North Polk, the No. 8 team in Class 4A, fell to 5-6.
Centennial will host a CIML Iowa Conference doubleheader against No. 13 Ankeny (5-4) on Wednesday.
