Seniors Brock Adamson and Max Watson of Ankeny along with Easton Pratt of Ankeny Centennial are participating in the 2023 All-Star Series this weekend at Merchants Park in Carroll. The event is sponsored by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Adamson, Watson and Pratt will play for the Large Schools West team coached by Eric Evans of Urbandale. Tyler Brietzke of Council Bluffs Lincoln and Trevor Miller of Sioux City East are the team’s assistant coaches.
The three-day event began on Thursday night with a pair of games. It will continue on Friday with two games, followed by two more on Saturday.
Pratt, a pitcher, posted a 7-1 record with a 0.76 ERA for the Jaguars this season. He will play for Minnesota State-Mankato next year.
Adamson, a pitcher, compiled an 8-3 mark with a 2.62 ERA and 61 strikeouts for the Hawks. Watson, a catcher, batted .398 with seven doubles and a team-high 34 RBIs.
Both Adamson and Watson are headed to Ellsworth Community College in the fall.
