Ankeny Centennial juniors Delaney Miller and Jaeden Pratt have been named to the Class 5A all-tournament team at the state volleyball tournament in Coralville. Pratt earned a spot on the squad for the second straight year.
The duo led Centennial to a second consecutive appearance in the Class 5A semifinals. The Jaguars finished the season with a 31-7 record.
Miller had 16 kills in Centennial’s five-set victory over crosstown rival Ankeny in Monday’s quarterfinals. She pounded 16 more in the Jaguars’ five-set loss to eventual champion Waukee Northwest in Wednesday’s semifinals.
Pratt recorded 10 kills and 12 digs in the win over Ankeny. She had 15 kills, 13 digs and four blocks against Northwest.
Northwest outlasted top-ranked Dowling Catholic in five sets on Thursday to win its first state title. Katrina Pelds was named the captain of the all-tournament team and was joined on the squad by teammate Chloe Jones.
Dowling placed Mackenzie Dean, Annalise Grant and Ella Rogers on the all-tournament team.
