
The high school bowling season is heading into the home stretch.
Both of Ankeny’s teams traveled to Jefferson on Friday for a non-conference meet against Greene County at Spare Times Lanes & Lounge. It was Ankeny’s second meet in two days.
Greene County won the boys’ meet by a score of 2,699 to 2,618. Chase Fecher had a 472 series for the Rams (6-2), who also defeated Ankeny on Dec. 14 at B-Roll Bowling.
Greene County won the girls’ meet as well by a score of 1,806 to 1,757. Graci Cooklin bowled a 283 series for the Rams (2-6), who avenged a loss to Ankeny last month.

On Thursday, Ankeny hosted a CIML Conference meet against Urbandale at B-Roll Bowling. The boys’ meet came down to the final bakers game before the J-Hawks emerged with a 2,390-2,332 victory.
Damian Timm led Urbandale with a 358 series. The J-Hawks posted a 788 total in the bakers games.
In the girls’ meet, Urbandale won by a score of 2,030 to 1,860. Jaidan Abel led the J-Hawks with a 308 series.
The Hawkettes are now 0-5 in the conference and 1-9 overall. The Hawks’ records fell to 0-5 and 0-10.
Ankeny will face Dowling Catholic in another conference meet on Thursday at Game Day Lanes.
