Ankeny Centennial volleyball standout Delaney Miller has been named to the Elite all-state team by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association.
Miller and teammate Jaeden Pratt were both repeat picks to the Class 5A first team. They were joined on the squad by Ankeny star Reagan Hanfelt.
Two other Ankeny players, Baileigh Carlsen and Kamryn Scheib, were both named to the Class 5A second team. Mya Lei-Butters of Centennial was a third-team selection.
Miller, a senior outside hitter, led the Jaguars to a 32-5 record and a third consecutive trip to the Class 5A semifinals. The Wayne State (Neb.) recruit racked up a team-high 47 aces and 374 kills, which ranked 33rd in the entire state.
Pratt, a senior outside hitter, helped Centennial to the CIML Conference championship. The Illinois State basketball commit had 302 kills and 308 digs.
Hanfelt, a senior middle hitter, led the Hawkettes to a 36-5 mark and a seventh straight trip to the Class 5A state tournament. The Iowa State recruit tied for third in the state with 111 blocks, and her .392 kill efficiency ranked 22nd among all players.
Carlsen, a senior libero, tied for 10th in the state with 525 digs. The Auburn commit also led her team with 42 aces.
Scheib, a senior outside hitter, led Ankeny with 316 kills. The Bellevue University (Neb.) recruit was second on her squad with 304 digs.
Lei-Butters, a junior libero, led the Jaguars with 367 digs. She placed second on her team with 38 aces.
All-district teams
Miller and Pratt were also named to the Class 5A West all-district team by the IGCA. They were honored for the third time.
Carlsen, Hanfelt and Scheib were all repeat picks to the squad. Lei-Butters was also an all-district selection.
