
Both the Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial girls’ track teams competed in the Central College Indoor Meet on Friday at Pella, and each squad came away with a victory.
The Jaguars won the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:14.06. They won the race by more than 2 seconds over Southeast Polk.
The highlight of Ankeny’s day came in the high jump, where Mila Badillo tied for first place. Both Badillo and Kayse Miller of Pekin cleared the bar at 5 feet.
Centennial got a third-place finish in the 1,500 from Anika Mohrhauser, who posted a time of 4:56.12. Ellie Blevins was fourth in the same event in 5:07.72.
The Jaguars placed fourth in the 4×200 relay in a time of 1:51.80. They finished sixth in the 4×800 relay in 10:44.05.
Centennial’s Trinity Klingensmith took seventh in the 3,000. She was clocked in 12:04.00.
