

Tuesday was a tough day for the Ankeny Centennial girls’ golf team.
The Jaguars placed 13th among 14 squads in the Linn-Mar Invitational at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. They posted a score of 449.
“It was a rough outing,” said Centennial coach John Petersen.
However, there were some bright spots for Centennial. Kaitlyn Ault shot a 109 to lead the Jaguars, and Vivian Wilson fired a 111.
“They both had personal bests,” Petersen said.
Payton Drefke carded a 114. Samantha Lazear had a 115, Grace Miller shot a 116, and Olivia Joensen added a 119.
Centennial will compete in the Linda Bloom Invitational on Thursday at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown.
