The Ankeny Centennial girls’ golf team got a chance to play Veenker Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Jaguars will be heading back to one of the state’s most difficult courses in nine days.
Centennial dropped a 199-216 decision to host Ames in a CIML Iowa Conference dual meet. The Jaguars finished with a 2-3 record in the league.
Payton Drefke carded a 47 on the back nine to lead Centennial. Olivia Joensen fired a 52.
Grace Miller had a 56 for the Jaguars, Kaitlyn Ault had a 61, Vivian Wilson carded a 62, and Tessa Woerdehoff finished with a 69.
Megan Riesselman of Ames shot a 41 to earn medalist honors. Teammate Taylor Balsley was the runner-up after also shooting a 41.
The Iowa Conference meet will be held at Veenker on May 20.
