The Ankeny Centennial girls’ tennis team played an outmanned opponent on Monday.
The Jaguars lost only two games overall and rolled to an 11-0 victory at Des Moines Hoover in a non-conference meet.
“Our lower varsity got some great action today,” said Centennial coach Alli Gustafson. “Hoover only had six girls playing total, so for doubles, some of our lower varsity got to move up and play in the upper doubles spots. I was happy with how all of the girls performed, both with their tennis skills and their characters. Our girls were friendly and kind to their opponents, which is something awesome to see as a coach!”
The Jaguars evened their record at 3-3. Hoover dropped to 0-3.
Centennial will travel to Waukee on Tuesday for another non-conference meet against the 10th-ranked Warriors (1-1).
