The streaky Ankeny Centennial softball team has had an up-and-down season.
Now, the Jaguars are riding their longest winning streak of the summer.
Sixth-ranked Centennial rolled to an 11-0 non-conference victory on Tuesday at Roland-Story, the No. 14 team in Class 3A. It was the fifth straight win for the Jaguars (19-11), who previously had a pair of four-game winning streaks as well as losing skids of three and four contests.
Centennial erupted for five runs in the first inning, then added three in the second and three more in the fourth. It marked the first time all season that the Norsemen (18-9) lost via the mercy rule.
Jadeyn Stahr (10-4) tossed a five-hitter for her second consecutive shutout. She had three strikeouts.
Jordyn Kennedy went 2-for-2 and drove in four runs. Lauren Solis had two RBIs.
Mackenzie James went 4-for-4, scored two runs and knocked in another while raising her average to .389. Lizzy Klunder went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI, while Claire Suarez also drove in a run.
Centennial will play a CIML Iowa Conference doubleheader at No. 13 Ames (17-16) on Wednesday. The Jaguars swept Ames on June 13.
