The Ankeny boys’ track team rested many of its top athletes on Tuesday with the Jim Duncan Invitational coming up on Saturday at Drake Stadium.
The Hawks placed seventh in the DouBrava Invitational at Urbandale. They finished with 31 points.
Ankeny swept the top two places in the high jump. Landon Pote and Mason Randolph both cleared the bar at 5 feet 10 inches, but Pote earned the victory based on fewer misses.
Braegyn Carter placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet 4 inches. Gage Ouverson took fifth in the discus with a toss of 126-0.
The Hawks placed second in the distance medley relay. They posted a time of 3:48.60.
Waukee won the meet with 160 points. Dowling Catholic placed second with 97 points, edging Urbandale by two points.
