The Ankeny boys’ track team placed sixth among eight squads in the North Polk Relays on Tuesday. The Hawks finished with 63.5 points.
The host Comets won the meet with 169.5 points. Johnston was second with 128.
Ankeny swept the top two places in the 400 hurdles. Maxwell Doyle won the race in 58.30 seconds, while teammate Jet Bergwall was the runner-up in 59.53.
The Hawks got a second-place finish from Gavin Wise in the 110 hurdles. He was clocked in 15.53.
Tate Brownsberger added a third-place finish in the 800. He posted a time of 2:04.52.
Nicholas Robie took fourth in the 1,600. He turned in a time of 4:40.35.
Landon Pote placed fifth in the 110 hurdles in 16.32. He tied for fifth in the high jump at 5 feet 8 inches.
Ankeny placed third in the sprint medley relay in 1:39.20.
