There’s a reason why the Valley boys’ soccer team is ranked No. 1 in Class 4A.
The Tigers are on a roll.

Valley built a 2-0 halftime lead, then added three more goals in the second half. The game was played in a drizzling rain.
Junior Preston Kipnusu recorded a hat trick in the win. Pablo Mendez added two assists.
Valley has outscored its opponents by a 24-0 margin during its winning streak. The Tigers finished 6-2 in the conference and improved to 14-2 overall.
Ankeny was held scoreless for the third time in four games. The Hawks ended the regular season with records of 2-6 and 4-9.
Ankeny will now prepare for postseason play. The Hawks will play at Johnston in a substate semifinal on May 22.
The Dragons (12-3) posted a 3-1 victory at Ankeny on April 11.
