Ankeny Christian Academy volleyball star Katie Quick has been named to the elite all-state team by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association.
Quick, a junior setter, was also selected the Class 1A player of the year after leading the Eagles to a second consecutive state championship. She has verbally committed to play for Drake.
Quick ranked fourth in Class 1A with 880 assists. She also racked up 150 aces, leading the entire state in that category for the second year in a row.
ACA coach Michele Quick, Katie’s mother, was named the Class 1A coach of the year for the second straight season. She guided her team to a 39-3 record, matching last year’s mark, and a 29-match winning streak to end the season.
Quick was joined on the Class 1A all-state first team by two of her teammates, junior outside hitters Carley Craighead and Macey Nehring. Both Craighead and Quick were repeat selections.

Michele Quick was also a repeat selection as the district coach of the year.
