The Ankeny boys’ swimming team traveled to Cedar Falls on Tuesday to face the host Tigers and Dubuque Senior in a non-conference double dual meet.
The Hawks lost to Cedar Falls, 99.5-82.5, but posted a 138-44 victory over Dubuque Senior. They are now 3-2 overall heading into Thursday’s CIML Conference dual meet at Valley.
Ankeny won three events against both opponents, including the 200 medley relay. The Hawks won that race in a time of 1:40.72.
Owen Evans captured the 50 freestyle in 22.49 seconds. He later placed second in the 100 freestyle in 48.87.
Owen Schwebach took the 100 butterfly in 52.76. Teammate Bryer Pearson was the runner-up in that event in 53.91.
Schwebach earlier placed second in the 200 freestyle. He was clocked in 1:47.98.
Brock Peterson took second in two events. He posted times of 2:03.90 in the 200 individual medley and 55.18 in the 100 backstroke.
Finn Stukerjurgen was the runner-up in the 500 freestyle. He turned in a time of 5:05.97.
Austin Troyer added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle. He was clocked in 22.97.
Ankeny placed second in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:34.37. The Hawks later ended the meet with another second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, turning in a time of 3:18.64.
