Most of the high school basketball events in central Iowa were postponed this week–with the exception of two doubleheaders on Thursday.
It was a good night for the community of Waukee as both Waukee and Waukee Northwest swept a pair of games against one of their CIML Conference rivals.
The fourth-ranked Waukee girls’ team rallied for a 54-50 win at No. 7 Ankeny, while the No. 5 Waukee boys’ squad held off a late rally by No. 7 Ankeny for a 68-63 victory. The Warriors completed a sweep of the season series against Ankeny.
At Waukee Northwest, the Wolves posted a 49-42 win over Valley in the girls’ game, followed by a 64-59 triumph in the boys’ contest. The Tigers had won both of the earlier matchups by double digits.
