Taylor Runchey’s final collegiate basketball season will conclude at the NCAA Division III Final Four.
The former Ankeny Centennial standout helped the Wartburg College women’s team to a 68-58 victory over Washington and Lee University in the Elite 8 on Saturday at Providence, R.I. She had three rebounds, an assist and a block in 29 minutes of action.
Wartburg (29-2) advanced to the Final Four for the third time since 2016 and in school history. The Knights will play Smith College in the national semifinals on Thursday at Columbus, Ohio.
Former North Polk standout Jaedon Murphy led Wartburg with 23 points and eight rebounds. She went 5-of-9 from 3-point range.
Runchey, a senior guard, has started all 31 games for the Knights. She averages 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
