Ankeny senior Teagen Peiffer has committed to wrestle next year at Northwestern College in Orange City.
Peiffer said it took him awhile to find the right school.
“I visited a lot of schools, but in the end there were only a few I was seriously considering,” said Peiffer. “It definitely wasn’t an easy decision. There were a lot of factors I needed to consider, and I didn’t have all the information I needed until late February. But, in the end, I was able to confidently choose Northwestern and I’m sure I’ve made the right choice.”
Peiffer was a three-time letterwinner for the Hawks. He was a state qualifier as a senior at 157 pounds, helping his team to a 14th-place finish in Class 3A.
Peiffer, who finished with a 26-14 record, said he was attracted to Northwestern’s faith-based approach in all areas of campus life.
“I know it will be the best place for me to focus on my growth in school, wrestling, and in my faith without many distractions,” he said. “I believe we’re the average of the people we surround ourselves with and the people in Orange City match my values and my work ethic well. I’m very excited for the opportunity to help build up their wrestling program.”
