Ankeny defensive back Jacob Mohrfeld has committed to play football at Grand View.
Mohrfeld becomes the second Ankeny player in the Class of 2024 to join the Vikings’ program. Linebacker Nolan Morrison previously committed to Grand View.
Mohrfeld helped the Hawks to a 9-4 record and a runner-up finish in Class 5A last season. He led his team with six interceptions, which tied for the most in Class 5A.
Mohrfeld racked up 36.5 tackles, including 28 solo stops and two for losses. He also recorded a sack.
Mohrfeld was named to the Class 5A all-state second team by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association. He was also selected to the all-district first team in Class 5A District 6.
