The Ankeny Centennial softball team extended its winning streak to four games with a 5-1 victory over visiting Waterloo West in the opener of a non-conference doubleheader on Friday before the Wahawks earned a split with a 3-2 win in the nightcap.
The Jaguars (9-4) pounded out 10 hits in the first game. Jordyn Kennedy went 3-for-3 with a double and scored a run.
Payton Drefke doubled and had two RBIs, while Addi Starr also drove in two runs. Mady Ott homered for the third straight game, hitting a solo blast.
Kori Lincicum went 2-for-3 in the win. She also scored a run.
Cora Boyle (6-0) was the winning pitcher. She allowed one earned run on five hits over the first four innings before being replaced by Lauren Sandholm, who racked up five strikeouts in three hitless innings of relief.
In the second game, Waterloo West (4-11) led all the way after scoring twice in the first inning. Lincicum (0-2) took the loss, allowing one earned run on four hits while recording six strikeouts.
Drefke doubled and had one RBI, while Boyle also knocked in a run. Addie Pollock went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
Centennial will host another non-conference doubleheader against Linn-Mar (Marion) (5-8) on Saturday.
