Ankeny Centennial baseball standouts Joey Oakie and Isaac Bruhl were both unanimous picks to the CIML Conference first team. They were joined on the squad by teammate Emerson Alberhasky and Blake Morgan of Ankeny.
Ten players from Centennial and 10 more from Ankeny received all-conference honors. The teams were selected by the league’s coaches.
Oakie, a senior pitcher, was a unanimous first-team all-conference pick for the third consecutive year. He was honored in the CIML Iowa Conference in 2022 before the Jaguars moved into the CIML Conference last season.
Oakie led Centennial to a 29-11 record. He went 4-2 with a 1.26 ERA while also batting .327 with a team-high four home runs and 33 RBIs.
Oakie, who was selected by the Cleveland Guardians with the 84th overall pick in the third round of the 2024 MLB amateur draft earlier this month, set school career records for innings pitched (164) and strikeouts (266). He also set a new career mark with 82 runs scored.
Bruhl, a junior infielder, batted a team-high .378 with two triples, eight doubles and 15 RBIs. The switch-hitter led the Jaguars in multiple categories, including stolen bases (17).
Alberhasky, a senior, was selected to a utility position. The Wartburg commit went 5-2 on the mound with a 1.27 ERA while also batting .233 with six doubles and 20 RBIs.
Morgan, a senior outfielder, led the Hawks to a 19-23 mark. The Southwest Virginia College recruit batted .355 with one homer, 12 doubles and 28 RBIs.
Two other Ankeny players, senior infielder Jack Clevidence and junior outfielder Evan Irlmeier, were named to the all-conference second team. They were joined on the squad by senior pitcher Sean Stewart, senior catcher Leyton Kolln and senior first baseman Preston Glatt of Centennial.
Clevidence led the Hawks in several offensive categories, batting .397 with three homers, 14 doubles and 36 RBIs. The Evansville recruit also went 3-5 on the mound with a 3.74 ERA.
Irlmeier batted .310 with four doubles and 20 RBIs. He led Ankeny with 10 sacrifice bunts and tied for the team lead with 10 stolen bases.
Stewart posted a 7-1 record with a 2.03 ERA and 62 strikeouts. The Iowa Central commit tied the school record for most wins in a season.
Kolln batted .306 with one homer, six doubles and 21 RBIs. He is headed to Northeast (Neb.) Community College.
Glatt batted .310 with one homer and 21 RBIs. The Garden City (Kan.) commit led his team with 10 doubles.
Two other Jaguars, senior pitcher Tripp Rawlings and junior outfielder Kohen Bollwinkel, were third-team selections.
Rawlings compiled a 5-1 mark with a 2.14 ERA. He will play for Ellsworth.
Bollwinkel batted .306 with two triples and 18 RBIs. He scored a team-high 30 runs.
Two other Centennial players, junior Jackson Reed and sophomore Will Morris, earned all-conference honorable mention along with seniors Henry Ha and Carson Riggs; juniors Karsten Bernholtz, Travis Gerstel, Jack Goodwin and Kinnick Vos; and sophomore Will Davies of Ankeny.
