Ankeny duo earns academic all-state honors from Golf Coaches Association

Ankeny boys’ golf standouts Duncan Beelner and Caden Weddingfeld have been named to the academic all-state team by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association.

Qualifications for the award include being a senior, a 3.75 GPA or higher, and participating in at least half the varsity events this season.

The duo led the Hawks to an eighth-place finish in the Class 4A state meet last month at Briarwood. Beelner tied for 12th as an individual with a two-day total of 152, while Weddingfeld tied for 18th with a 154 total.
