Ankeny senior Kinnick Vos has verbally committed to play baseball at Black Hawk Community College in Moline, Ill.
Vos, a shortstop, will be reunited with former teammate Ben Sandvig, who started his collegiate career at North Iowa Area Community College but has since transferred to Black Hawk.
“I narrowed it down to a couple options at some different levels and decided on the juco route,” Vos said. “I loved their facilities, and the program is on the rise so it felt like it was a good fit.”
Vos earned all-conference honorable mention last season while helping Ankeny to a 19-23 mark. He started all 42 games.
Vos batted .268 with one home run, seven doubles and 23 RBIs. He led the team with 25 walks and 35 runs scored while stealing nine bases, which ranked third on the squad.
Vos also went 1-0 in two relief appearances on the mound, giving up no earned runs across four innings.
