Former Ankeny Centennial basketball standout Jaron Crews has entered the transfer portal.
Crews announced his decision via social media earlier this week.
“Officially in the Transfer Portal!” Crews tweeted on Wednesday.
Crews played in all 28 games with 27 starts this season at Ashland University, an NCAA Division II school in Ashland, Ohio. The 6-foot junior guard averaged 9.6 points, 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 20 conference games.
Crews was a two-time all-state pick at Centennial, where he helped the Jaguars to a fourth-place finish in the Class 4A state tournament as a junior. After graduating in 2021, he spent a year at Don Bosco Prep in Crown Point, Ind.
Crews started his college career at DMACC (Boone). He then transferred to Ellsworth Community College, where he averaged 12.1 points and earned second-team NJCAA All-Region XI honors before moving on to Ashland.
