
The Ankeny Centennial girls’ tennis team dropped an 8-3 decision to visiting North Polk in a non-conference meet on Wednesday.
The Comets improved their record to 4-5 on the season. Centennial fell to 0-3.
The Jaguars got wins from Ella Sutherland at the No. 4 singles position and Natalie Carr at the No. 6 spot. Carr and Makenzie Piper then won the No. 3 doubles match by injury default.
Centennial played without No. 1 player Samara Peterson. She suffered an injury during her No. 1 doubles match in the Jaguars’ 8-3 loss to Ankeny on Tuesday.
Centennial will play a CIML Conference match at Urbandale (2-2) on Thursday.
