
Ankeny Centennial volleyball standouts Mya Lei-Butters and Tatem Schmidt have been named to the CIML Conference first team along with Ankeny star Hailey Flanders, who was a unanimous selection. A total of 14 players from the two schools earned recognition from the league’s coaches.
The Jaguars landed Maegan Cheeseman and Mady Ott on the all-conference second team. They were joined on the squad by Ankeny’s Marlee Ellison and Hailey Wiederin.
Centennial also placed Ellie Pollock on the third team. Two other Jaguars, Sophia Heither and Kaelyn Rinehart, earned honorable mention along with Ankeny’s Elle Isaacson, Raquel Risk, Quinn Roush and Miya Steinkamp.

Flanders, a senior libero, helped the Hawkettes to a 28-9 record and a trip to the Class 5A semifinals. She led Class 5A with 60 aces and ranked fourth in Class 5A with 450 digs.
Lei-Butters, a senior libero, helped the Jaguars to a 34-6 mark and a runner-up finish in Class 5A. She ranked fifth in Class 5A with 431 digs.
Lei-Butters earned all-conference honors for the third time. She was a second-team pick in each of the previous two seasons.
Schmidt, a senior setter and outside hitter, led Centennial with 266 kills while posting a .263 hitting efficiency. She also had a team-best .952 serving percentage, completing 320-of-336 attempts.

Cheeseman, a senior setter, was a repeat pick to the second team. She tied for 11th in Class 5A with 592 assists.
Ott, a senior middle hitter, ranked second among the Jaguars with 188 kills.
Wiederin, a sophomore outside hitter, ranked eighth in Class 5A with 319 kills. She also ranked eighth in blocks with 80.

Ellison, a junior outside hitter, ranked second among the Hawkettes with 249 kills. She also had 226 digs and 31 aces.
Pollock, a junior outside hitter, contributed 178 kills, 245 digs and 29 aces.
