The Ankeny girls’ tennis team picked up a few victories during its non-conference meet on Thursday at Ottumwa.
The Hawkettes dropped an 8-3 decision in the end, but managed to come away with the trio of match wins.
“It was an awesome night for tennis!” said Ankeny coach Katie Owens. “The Hawks played tough matches against the Bulldogs!”
Ottumwa raised its overall record to 12-3. Ankeny is now 3-9 on the year.
The Hawkettes will play at Des Moines Roosevelt (5-4) on Monday, then will close out the regular season on Tuesday with another non-conference meet at Boone (8-1).
