
The Ankeny Centennial boys’ track team won two races at the Johnston Invitational on Tuesday, placed second in a pair of events and finished third in two others.
Brecken Allen took the 400 in 50.59 seconds. He won the race by nearly 2 full seconds.
Cohen Moll captured the 1,600 in a time of 4:19.88. Teammate Jax Alvarez was third in that race in 4:30.22.
Allen and Moll also ran on the runner-up 4×400 relay. They teamed up with Kyler Jones and Ryne Adams to post a time of 3:25.47.
Johnathan Gilbert placed second for the Jaguars in the shot put. He recorded a throw of 52 feet 5 inches.
Centennial’s Nic Ryan added a third-place finish in the 110 hurdles. He was clocked in 15.98 seconds.
The Jaguars will compete in the Waukee Invitational on Thursday at Waukee Northwest.
