
The Waukee boys’ tennis team earned its first win of the season on Thursday at the Prairie Ridge courts.
The visiting Warriors posted an 8-3 victory over Ankeny to improve to 1-1 in the CIML Conference and 1-2 overall. The Hawks’ records dropped to 0-3 and 1-3.
Ankeny got wins in singles from Garrett Weichers at the No. 1 position and Perez Perez at the No. 5 spot. The Hawks also got a victory from the No. 2 doubles team of Grady Schlosser and Michael Black.
Both Ankeny and Waukee will compete at the Johnston Invitational on Friday along with the host Dragons and Norwalk.
