
The first boys’ soccer rankings from the Iowa High School Athletic Association have been announced.
Ankeny Centennial earned a No. 2 ranking in Class 4A following its 4-0-1 start to the season. The Jaguars kicked off their campaign on April 7 with a 5-0 victory at Waukee Northwest, which is currently 5-1 and ranked fourth.
The only blemish on Centennial’s record came on Friday, when the Jaguars settled for a 1-1 draw at defending Class 3A state champion Urbandale. The J-Hawks are now in Class 4A and ranked seventh with a 3-2-2 mark.
There are six CIML Conference teams in the top 10, led by No. 1 Johnston. The Dragons (4-0) have allowed only one goal this season.
