The Ankeny girls’ golf team placed 11th among 16 squads in the Lamson Invitational on Monday at Willow Creek.
The Hawkettes posted a score of 400. They again competed without their No. 1 golfer, Madalyn Ross, who also missed the Toni Dickey Invitational on Thursday.
“She missed both meets for a choir trip,” said Ankeny coach Kelley Emke.
Norwalk shot a 337 to capture the team title, edging runner-up Southeast Polk by one stroke. Defending champion Marshalltown took third with a 350.
Liliana Graham of Bettendorf fired a 3-over-par 76 to earn medalist honors. Evelyn Kinney of Norwalk was the runner-up with a 78.
Gabriella Haga shot a 92 to lead Ankeny. Aubree Moeller carded a 96, Catherine Nelson had a season-best 100, Tenley Beelner fired a 112, and Lydia Gerety added a 117.
The Hawkettes will return to Willow Creek on Wednesday for a CIML Conference triangular meet against Valley and Ankeny Centennial. The Tigers placed ninth in Monday’s meet by posting a 380 total on their home course.
