
The Ankeny Centennial boys’ track team defended its title on Tuesday in the Jaguar Invitational at Northview Stadium.
Centennial won five events and racked up 147 points. Waukee placed second in the seven-team field with 137, followed by Southeast Polk with 91.
The Jaguars got victories from Noah Ross in the 100 (11.00), Sawyer Goble in the 400 (51.49) and Jackson Lewis in the 800 (2:00.25). Johnathan Gilbert added another win in the shot put, where he recorded a throw of 52 feet 11.25 inches.
Centennial also won the shuttle hurdle relay. The quartet of Gavin Matheny, Devin Boyle, Anders Peck and Nic Ryan posted a time of 1:00.43.
Ryan placed second in the 110 hurdles in 15.01 seconds. Heisman Dickinson was the runner-up behind Ross in the 100, posting a time of 11.32.
Dickinson also took third in the long jump with a leap of 19-8.75. He finished just behind teammate Brandon Bakkum, who placed second with a leap of 19-9.
Caleb Larson placed third in the discus with a toss of 143-9, while Camden Sherwood finished third in the high jump at 6 feet. Roman Fye added a third-place finish in the 3,200, where he was clocked in 10:34.91.
The Jaguars placed second in the 4×200 relay. The foursome of Brecken Allen, Dickinson, Kyler Jones and James Cole posted a time of 1:30.09.
Dickinson, Jones and Cole also ran on the runner-up 4×100 relay. They teamed up with James Naert to post a time of 42.67 seconds, the 15th-fastest time in Iowa this season.
Centennial’s Logan Shwery won three wheelchair events. He posted times of 22.63 in the 100 and 46.41 in the 200 and recorded a toss of 9-7 in the shot put.
The Jaguars will compete at the Drake Relays Thursday through Saturday.
